What Customers Say About Campbell Hausfeld DG480100CK Palm Sander:
|

Campbell Hausfeld really needs to insulate this thing to make it less noisy and transmit less vibrations to the user. The finished surface that the sander provides is fair, even with fine paper (400 grit) it tends to leave a lot of unwanted scratches. All I can say is that for the price ($15-$20) it's a okay tool. The quick release clamp makes changing sandpaper easier then most. In fact my 15+ year old Makita palm sander collects more dust and has less vibrations then this thing. If you are looking for a good palm sander I would highly recommend you look at the Milwaukee 6020-21, Makita BO4556 Finishing Sander, Bosch 1297DK, or Porter-Cable 342 Palm Sander instead. However that's about all of the good that comes from this sander.I don't know about you, but when a tool has a specific feature such as a dust bag you expect it to work.
Even with really fine sandpaper (600 or finer) it only produces mediocre results. It makes sanding jobs faster and easier. Again my 15+ year old Makita sander with the same grit of paper provides a better finish. All in all this is an okay sander for the price and to me is only suitable for rough sanding jobs. Well unfortunately it doesn't. After a sanding job very little is collected in the bag. Don't expect to use it for finish work or intricate pieces.
All are better made, collect dust while sanding, quieter, and produce great results.Pros:Cheap.Quick release clamp makes changing sandpaper easy.Cons:Dust bag doesn't work.Feels cheaply made.Even with fine and really fine sandpaper the finished results are less then desirable.Kinda noisy, not very well insulated.
